Welcome to the Usküdar American Academy recruiting website. As you look at our website, ask yourself the following questions:

Do I want to enrich my practice and enjoy a high degree of professionalism?

Am I committed to offering the best I have in support of high school students and their growth and development?

Am I looking for an enriching and vibrant cultural and professional experience unlike any other place in the world?

If your response to all three of these questions was YES then I encourage you to explore the opportunity of working at UAA and living in Istanbul, Turkey - a world class city and wonderfully rich and diverse country.

UAA is an historic educational institution of 140 years recognized throughout the world for it’s commitment to academic excellence, social service, professional integrity, and the creation and maintenance of a caring and compassionate learning community. UAA is one of four high schools governed by the Health and Education Foundation, or SEV, a Turkish non-profit foundation. Our school is national in terms of student enrollment - 100% Turkish students - but passionately international in its approach to learning. Our faculty’s composition is 68% national and 32% international.

Our students are highly motivated and eager to learn having met demanding admissions standards by qualifying in the top 1% on the Turkish national exam. They possess the aptitude and skills that make teaching and learning an exciting, dynamic and rewarding process! Our school community embraces teaching and learning with a passion.

Learning at UAA extends beyond the classroom, campus, and country. Both students and faculty attend a wide-range of events throughout the world such as the Model United Nations, the International Schools Theater Association workshops and professional development opportunities such as International Baccalaureate workshops, regional conferences, and the Principal’s Training Center. In addition to the national Turkish curriculum and diploma, we offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma, a diverse selection of electives and a vibrant co and extracurricular program featuring over 80 clubs!

While there are many wonderful schools throughout the world located in many exotic places it would do you well to consider teaching and living in the beautiful and historic city of İstanbul. Having worked and lived in South America, Southeast Asia, Mexico, the Middle East, and the United States, İstanbul and Turkey offer a richly diverse culture featuring historic landmarks, markets and bazaars, great restaurants and cuisine, a wide range of entertainment and recreational opportunities and a diverse international community. The people are warm and friendly and the city is comfortable and safe.

In closing, UAA is an accredited member of The Council of International Schools, is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses. We attend major international school recruitment fairs. If you are interested in learning more about our school, please visit the UAA and SEV foundation websites. Should we have positions posted for which you may qualify and are interested in, please submit your credentials and we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

Best Regards,
