CHILD PROTECTION CODE OF CONDUCT CONTRACT

In conjunction with the SEV Schools Mission statement,  the Criminal Background Check for International Teachers and the SEV Code of Ethics, I promise to strictly follow the guidelines in the SEV Child Protection Code of Conduct/Policy as a condition of employment and for the services provided to the students attending school name.
 
I will:
  • Treat everyone with respect, patience, integrity, courtesy, dignity, and consideration.
  • Never be alone with students at school-sponsored activities without another adult being notified.
  • Use positive reinforcement not criticism, competition, or comparison when working with students.
  • Maintain acceptable physical boundaries at all times and engage in physical contact with students when appropriate and only in ways that are safe, public, and non-sexual.
  • Comply with the mandatory reporting regulations of the SEV Schools and with ACI policy on reporting suspected child/student abuse.
  • Cooperate fully in any investigation of abuse of children and/or youth.
 
I will not:
  • Touch or speak to a child and/or youth in a sexual or other inappropriate manner.
  • Inflict any physical or emotional abuse that can injure, humiliate, ridicule, threaten or degrade our students.
  • Smoke or use tobacco products, possess, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any time while working or in the presence of students.
  • Provide unauthorized personal transportation for a student who is not my child.
  • Accept gifts from or give gifts to students without the knowledge of their parents or guardians.
  • Engage in private communications with students via text messaging, whatsApp, email, Facebook, Twitter or similar forms of electronic or social media except for activities strictly involving school business. I  understand that if I have accounts on social media where I share personal and/or relative/family photos and information, I have to  restrict the account as "private." I shall not keep my personal accounts open to public. I understand that in order for a social media account to be described as "personal," it is sufficient to include at least one personal photo or information, including my own.
  • Use profanity in the presence of students at any time.
 
I understand that as a teacher/Head of School of SEV/American School I am subject to a criminal history background check.  My signature confirms that I have never been accused of and/or engaged in any action that would qualify as child abuse and that I have read this document and agree to honor these guidelines. I understand that any action inconsistent with the SEV Child Protection Code of Conduct or failure to take action mandated by this document may result in disciplinary action up to and including my immediate termination of employment with the school having no liability to continue payment of salary or other benefits.
